Since its foundation in 1950 the Charity has raised and distributed over £40m to schools, clubs and special needs organisations. The Lord’s Taverners benefits hugely from the support of its highly regarded members, many of them drawn from the world of sport and entertainment including Robert Powell,Baroness Heyhoe Flint,Chris Tarrant and Sir Bruce Forsyth. In Northern Ireland, the former BBC executive and past President of Cricket Ireland, Robin Walsh, is the Regional President. This Lunch and other events organised throughout the year by the Lord’s Taverners have enabled the charity to support Youth Sport in Northern Ireland and raise funds for two special New Horizon Minibuses this year.
